Verzenio + by itself
Explore the effectiveness, dosing, and common side effects of Verzenio by itself.
How effective is Verzenio by itself?
Verzenio was studied in 132 adult patients with hormone receptor‑positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2‑negative (HER2–) advanced or metastatic breast cancer (MBC) who had progressed on or after prior hormone treatments, a taxane, and 1 or 2 chemotherapy regimens in the metastatic setting. All patients were treated with only Verzenio.
Verzenio shrinks tumors and delays the spread of cancer
When other advanced or metastatic breast cancer treatments (hormonal treatments and prior chemotherapy) stopped working, Verzenio helped delay the growth and spread of cancer in a clinical study.
19.7% of women taking Verzenio alone saw their tumors shrink by 30% or more. In the same study, an independent review found similar results (17.4% of women).

Diarrhea is common with Verzenio, may be severe and may cause dehydration or infection. The most common time to develop diarrhea is during the first month of Verzenio treatment. Your doctor may stop your treatment, lower your dose, or tell you to wait to begin your treatment cycle if you have diarrhea.
At the first sign of loose stools, tell your doctor. You may be advised to start taking an antidiarrheal medicine (such as loperamide) and drink more fluids.
